Record increase in UK car production
By Matthew Plant - Financial specialist
March saw a record 90.2% rise in car production in the UK, compared with the same month last year, according to new figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
It was the fifth consecutive month in which annual car production had risen, the SMMT added.
Output for both home and export markets has increased, with home production more than doubling on March 2009`s figures.
A car finance expert at Think Money said: "This is good news for the car industry, which struggled during the economic downturn but now appears to be making a good recovery - and the increasing availability of car finance is helping.
"We advise car buyers thinking about taking out a car loan to speak to an independent car loans adviser about where to find the best deal."
